TimezoneBudy ("we," "our," or "us") operates timezonebudy.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how it's used, and your choices regarding that information. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.
In short: we do not sell your data, we do not run third-party advertising trackers, and most of your preferences (pinned cities, theme, time format) are stored only in your own browser — never on our servers.
2. Data We Collect
We collect minimal data. Specifically:

We do not require account creation, and we do not collect names, emails, or any personal identifiers simply for browsing the Site.
3. Browser Storage (localStorage)
TimezoneBudy uses your browser's built-in localStorage to remember your preferences between visits, including:
- Your pinned "My Cities" selections
- Light or dark theme preference
- 12-hour or 24-hour time format preference
- Temperature unit preference (°C/°F) on the Weather page
This data is stored entirely on your own device and is never transmitted to our servers. Clearing your browser's site data or cache will remove these preferences.
4. Third-Party Services We Use
To provide live weather, sun/moon, and location data, the Site makes requests to the following third-party APIs directly from your browser:

These services have their own privacy policies governing how they handle requests. We do not control or have access to data sent directly between your browser and these third parties.
5. Contact Form Data
When you submit our Contact form, your name, email address, phone number, and message are sent securely to our team's email inbox for the sole purpose of responding to your inquiry. We do not add you to a marketing list, and we do not share this information with third parties.
We retain contact form submissions only as long as needed to resolve your inquiry, after which they may be deleted at our discretion.
6. Cookies
TimezoneBudy does not use tracking or advertising cookies. Cloudflare, our hosting provider, may set minimal technical cookies necessary for security and performance (such as DDoS protection) — these are not used to track you across other websites.
7. Geolocation
Features like "Use My Location" (on the Weather and Sun & Moon pages) request your device's location via your browser's built-in Geolocation API. This only happens if you explicitly click the relevant button, and your browser will always prompt you for permission first. Your coordinates are used only to fetch local data and are not stored on our servers.
8. Children's Privacy
TimezoneBudy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our Contact form, please contact us so we can delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
